Hi friends, I'm Sarah. A late 30's, busy, newly married, working mom of three. I spent most of my tenure as a mother thus far as a single mom raising my two daughters alone in the Texas Hill Country. We moved here in 2018 after their dad and I split up the year before. Moving to Texas was easily the best decision I could have made for myself and for my girls at that time. I didn't know anyone in the town we moved to, but I forced myself to break out of my reclusive comfort zone and make friends. Years later, I've built a beautiful life for myself and my girls, to include finding that once in a lifetime love in the most incredible man who scooped us up like we'd always belonged to him. He and I decided very early in our romantic relationship that we were forever, he put a ring on it and we wasted no time (that whole late 30's thing) and added one more human to the mix; we welcomed our son into the world via emergency c-section in January of 2023, a few weeks ahead of his expected arrival. Now we are a complete family of 5, with two working parents and the two best big sisters a little boy could ever ask for. Currently I have one of those obnoxious things called a career in corporate America, but my ultimate goal is to open my own business and build generational wealth for my children. Follow along for some of that no-nonsense, life is messy, but we make the most of it energy we all need.
In the last few years, I've taken up hunting as a sport/hobby and an enjoyable way to provide for my family. There's something very primal and powerful about literally filling the freezer. I thoroughly enjoy wildlife and have an immense amount of gratitude for the animals I have harvested. This photo is of a Nilgai bull I shot with a .308 rifle down at the King Ranch in South Texas. The shot itself was actually pretty difficult, I am vertically challenged and had to fire off of the hood of a large Dodge Ram at about 80 yards, but I was 7 months pregnant and these guys spook easily. It was quite an event, but I hit him exactly where I needed to and he went down pretty fast. He provided us with about a year supply of lean red meat, the girls love it and my husband can cook it in about a dozen different ways. My youngest daughter enjoys telling people that her mom brought home the "delicious antelope."
Since I really like to eat.....I really have to work out. I am deathly allergic to cardio so weightlifting and functional fitness are my jam. I am piecing together a garage gym because making my way to an actual gym with a newborn and a corporate 8-5 is about as easy and convenient as wrangling cats. I am a big fan of Marcus Filly programming and meal prep to control the nutrients I'm putting into my body. Let's just say that milkshakes make things shake a little different in your late 30's.
